Power Generation Policy 2015 Implications

Power generation policy is considered a backbone of socio-economic development of any country.  Pakistan introduced power generation policies to attract the private sector in the 1990s. Since the 1990s, Pakistan introduced multiple power generation policies, and some mega policies were introduced in 1994, 2002 and 2015. Beside that, two policies were introduced for renewable energy in 2006 and 2019, and two transmission line policies were introduced in 1994 and 2015. The first power generation policy was introduced in the power generation sector in 1994 to attract the private sector investment that adopts the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework.
